Dr. Davor Stamenovic
Dr. Davor Stamenovic studied medicine at the Belgrade Medical School. Later on he started his residency in general surgery and continued in thoracic surgery at the Military Medical Academy of the University of Defense in Belgrade. He started working as an attending thoracic surgeon in the same institution in 2007.
Dr. Stamenovic moved to Germany in 2009 and started working as an attending surgeon at the Thoracic Surgery Department of Katholisches Klinikum Koblenz of Mainz University. After three years at Mainz University he continued his studies at the Thoracic Surgery Department of ViDia Kliniken Karlsruhe of Freiburg University as attending thoracic surgeon from 2012 to 2019.
He took his master’s degree of health business administration at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg. Since 2019 he is the Deputy Head of the Thoracic Surgery Department of Mainz University Medical Center.
Dr. Stamenovic is one of the leading VATS surgeons in Germany, he is the first author in more than 20 articles, and has given many invited lectures in international and national scientific meetings. Meanwhile he performed as a member of the EACTS/STS Jeopardy Task Force, director of the EACTS VATS lobectomy course, director of the EACTS Thoracic Surgery Academy III Course and he is also the Associat Editor of BMC Surgery.
